Dedication to craft and environment.
Craftsmanship and nature are driving inspirations in my life. I feel at my best when working through the fine points of a project or adventuring outdoors. My hope is to take what inspires me and imbue it into my work as an architect, through creating sophisticated designs which respond to the environment.
Originally from central Illinois, I attended University of Oregon due to the architecture school’s emphasis on sustainable design. While at UO, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, where the minimalist functionality of Scandinavian design made an impression on me. Since graduating, my professional career has honed my creative and technical skills. With experience and a bit of discipline, I was able to ace six ARE exams in six months and become a licensed architect in the state of Oregon.
Recently, I took on a new role designing custom homes in beautiful eastern Washington. Outside of work, I enjoy taking trips to hiking and rock climbing destinations and making things with my hands.
